A Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations and ensuring the smooth running of the
business. Key duties typically include:
1. Staff Management:
• Training, and supervising staff.
• Scheduling shifts and managing staff performance.
• Handling conflict resolution and maintaining staff motivation.
2. Customer Service:
• Ensuring excellent customer service and handling complaints.
• Addressing customer inquiries and ensuring their satisfaction.
3. Inventory Management:
• Ordering supplies and managing stock levels.
• Ensuring that food, beverages, and other café products are always available.
4. Financial Management:
• Managing budgets, sales targets, and expenses.
• Cash handling, managing transactions, and balancing cash registers.
• Overseeing bookkeeping and attendance of his store employees
5. Health and Safety:
• Ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Conducting regular safety checks.
• Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the café.
6. Marketing and Promotions:
• Creating and implementing promotional strategies to increase sales.
• Training employees to Up sell
7. Menu Development:
• Analysing customer preferences and trends to adjust offerings.
8. Equipment Maintenance:
• Ensuring all kitchen and café equipment are properly maintained and operational.
• Coordinating repairs and maintenance when needed.
9. Compliance and Licensing:
• Ensuring the café adheres to all local laws and regulations.
• Maintaining necessary permits and licenses, such as health and business permits.
